Permanent Hair Removal

Never again unwanted hair!

With Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) unwanted hair can be removed painlessly, smoothly and effectively. The results of methods such as waxing, shaving or depilation are mostly temporary, and can be lengthy and painful. They also can cause redness and skin irritations. All this is history now!

Precise controlled impulses of bundled light-energy penetrate into the hair follicle and destroy it without damaging skin or tissue. The hair protein is also destroyed and the treated hair papilla cannot produce any new hair. The new Fractioned Pulse Light Technology consists of a sequence of micro pulses and rest periods; this allows the treated area to cool off and is therefore very gentle on the treated skin.

One to four weeks after every treatment the unwanted hair falls out. Typically treatments are repeated every six to twelve weeks. After about 7 to 10 treatments the skin is hairless and smooth – permanently.

This treatment can also be applied during the summer. For a successful treatment the skin should not have too much tan, and during the treatment period the treated areas should be protected with a SPF 50+ sun lotion.

Areas of application:

  • Face
  • Legs
  • Bikini area (also brazilian)

  • You are using prescription or homeopathic drugs which increase sensitivity to light (Relevant information can be found on or in the packaging of such drugs).
  • You suffer from a disease affecting your immune system (such as AIDS).
  • You are using immune suppressing medications (such as after chemotherapy).

  • You had your skin exposed to sun within 10 days of treatment (includes tanning beds and use of tanning creams).
  • You are using a pacemaker.

  • You are under 18 years old.
Can blonde hair be treated effectively with IPL?

Yes, blonde hair can also be removed permanently and effectively.

Do I have to prepare myself for the treatment?

You should not have done any form of depilation for at least one month before treatment (e.g. waxing, plucking, use of depilation creams). Shaving is great, preferably one day before treatment. You should not have done any intense tanning.

What measurements should be taken after treatment?

Avoid intensive sun exposure for a period of time after treatment. Avoid tanning booths.

Can I have a permanent hair removal treatment with IPL during the summer?

Yes, but not if your skin has an intensive tan. Caution: Areas treated become very sensitive to sun exposure; this means you should avoid direct sunlight exposure or use sun protection with a SPF 50+.

What are the possible side effects of an IPL treatment?

Depending on your skin's sensitivity red areas may appear; these tend to disappear rapidly.

Is permanent hair removal with IPL painful?

The IPL spark feels like a short (approximately one second of duration) hot piercing of the skin.

What is the interval between treatments?

Depending on the area of treatment there should be at least 6 to 12 weeks between the individual treatment in order to effectively catch the growth cycle of the hair roots.

How and when can I determine if a hair removal treatment with IPL was effective?

During the treatment the hair is separated from the destroyed root, but remains "stuck" in the skin. During the two weeks following the treatment hair will lose its grip and will be "rubbed out" during washing and drying. All of a sudden it will be gone!
